Problem

The popularity of marketplaces is growing day by day, something new regularly appears in this area. The demand for working with trading platforms is expanding, sales are increasing, and therefore the consumer needs a convenient comprehensive multitasking service to meet the needs of the market.

Goal

To develop an informational web resource with a modern technological design that covers most of the pain points of the target audience of marketplaces.

Research

Despite the specificity of the topic, I managed to assemble a focus group of people and conduct a series of interviews. Mainly I was wondering what criteria a multitasking service should meet to work with trading platforms.

What users expect from similar services

On average, out of the total number of respondents.
38% want to see full automation of accounting.
64% are looking for comprehensive technical support.
50% of users are interested in having a sales statistics and monitoring system.

Key pain points

1
It's not possible to delegate all types of work to one contractor.
2
Misunderstanding of logistical risks.
3
Inflated advertising budgets on third-party promo platforms.
4
It's psychologically difficult to switch from one service to another.

Wireframes

The wireframe development stage was carried out in the usual mode: first, the ideas were hand-sketched on paper, then some of the assumptions were rejected, and finally, the most promising ideas were transferred to a digital format.

Prototypes

Prototypes

Clickable prototypes were made (with low and high fidelity) to show how the user navigates through some pages and screens. This greatly simplifies the perception on the part of the customer and steakholders and gives a clear picture of all points on the user's path.

Thanks to testing stage, I made several critical conclusions about the structure of the website. I also had to remake several illustrations, which caused a number of strange associations among some respondents.

Usability study: findings

These are the key results of the usability study.
1
Illustrations on a complex topic should be made as clear as possible.
2
With the help of contrast, you can make the most important visual accents on the website.
3
Unique icons made from scratch look more attractive than stock ones.
4
The asymmetric arrangement of blocks in layouts makes the design more stylish.

Mockups

Unique isometric illustrations were drawn for the customer, as well as a set of minimalistic themed icons. The main emphasis was placed on the contrast between the background and the content: the first screen is in dark colors, and the rest of the screens are on a white background with careful study of the typography and the rest of the text content.

Conclusions

Helping people is always inspiring and joyful. Helping by doing your daily work that you love is doubly cool. I liked how the texts and the visual components (in the form of unique illustrations) were combined. This will undoubtedly attract the user's attention, get him look around on the site and make the right choice.
