Problem

Modern man is in constant motion — to work, rest or on his personal business. Electric transport as an analogue of a car or bus is designed to help save time and money for each of us. The customer needed to emphasize the convenience of electric transport, its modernity and practicality.

Goal

To create a light and contemporary monobrand website that reveals all the advantages of electric vehicles.

Research

Unfortunately, the customer provided too little time for the project and it wasn't possible to conduct full-fledged interviews. Nevertheless, a focus group of electric vehicle users was interviewed and I got certain results.

What people want to see on similar websites

On average, out of the total number of respondents.
30% want to see a loyal pricing policy.
54% of people are interested in the coverage map of the electric transport network.
39% expect a large assortment and a detailed description of products.

Key pain points

1
There is not enough information about electric vehicles.
2
Some are afraid to ride on devices of this kind.
3
Many people don't understand all the advantages of electric transport.
4
Some users prefer ordinary scooters and bicycles.

Wireframes

To test some hypotheses, I prepared a set of paper and digital wireframes to find the most optimal versions of the structure and user paths across all screens and pages. Unfortunately, the tight deadlines didn't allow me to go through the stage of clickable prototypes, but it was a forced measure and I worked with what I had at that time.

Mockups

At first, the customer wanted to use the stock photos of his products. I suggested another concept: to show electric vehicles not on a static monotonous background, but in natural environment — surrounded by the young people in the city, in the park, in the square. Together with the customer we have discussed and chosen locations for photography, plots and angles and selected the key representatives of the brand's product line. Based on the finished and processed photos, a general approach to design was built. The first screen of the main page is large ambient background, in the center of which an electric transport. The main content is a clean, calm design with a well-thought-out structure and a user-friendly location. The page of each model (for example, Jetson Neotron) is implemented in the form of a landing page, which is also based on a large professional photo and comprehensive information for the user.

Conclusions

Sometimes circumstances are stronger than us and we have to adapt to them in order to provide the best results, regardless of the difficulties and time constraints on the part of the customer. A designer should be able to adapt not only their layouts :)
